Year 3
P3B/C had lots of fun on our visit to Sentry Hill where we learned about life in Victorian times.
On Monday P3F/H made a cup and ball game. Victorian children used to play with these and we really enjoyed making them.
P3F/H visited Sentry Hill yesterday. We had a great time exploring a Victorian house.
We made toast as part of our instruction writing lessons.
We had fun learning about how icebergs melt as part of out Titanic work.
P3 worked in pairs to create a Jingle Bell Maze

Topmarks: There are lots of fantastic Numeracy games. Some we like to use in P3 are: Hit the button, daily 10 and order the egg.
Espresso: There are lots of great videos, activities and printable worksheets for areas of Literacy and Numeracy. Details of how to login are on this website page.
LITERACY APPS
The Spellosaur and Jolly Phonics app are brilliant apps to practise spellings and phonics sounds.
Here are some creative ideas you could try to practise your spellings:

Make your spellings with playdough

Write out your spellings with a whiteboard/chalkboard

Try and write out some words that rhyme with your spellings

Create a wordsearch using your spellings

Build your spellings using paper squares

Write out your spellings using lots of different colours

Make silly sentences with your spellings

Ask an adult to scramble your spellings and see if you can unscramble them.

Write your spellings and see if you can colour the consonants and vowels different colours.

Write each of your words on two different index cards. Turn all the cards face down and mix them up. Lay out your cards in rows (like Concentration) and flip over two cards at a time. Read each card aloud to see it they match. Keep them if they match or flip over and try again!
