P5 participated in a number of exciting activities related to our ‘Raiders of the Lost Tomb’ topic. As you can see from the photographs, the children built pyramids, tried some Egyptian weaving, drew pictures with some stencils, dressed up as Egyptians and tried to shoot a hippo in the River Nile with a bow and arrow! They also examined and identified a number of artefacts, designed some clay pots decorated with hieroglyphics, participated in an archeological dig type activity and played an Egyptian game. To complete the workshop, the children made their own Pharaoh’s axe. A great day was had by all!
