We made electrical circuits as part of our Electricity topic. The children had to work out how to connect the wires, battery and bulb, leaving no gaps so that the bulb would light. We also tested materials to see if they were conductors or insulators.
'It takes teamwork!'
The children were asked to write instructions for how to make an electrical circuit, complete with labelled diagrams. These were displayed on the board pictured below.
Following on from building circuits, the children produced models which had to incorporate a working light bulb. We worked in pairs to plan and produce some very impressive examples!
The girls made a bedroom complete with a light on the ceiling.
The boys display their completed bedroom. Their light bulb was faulty so they decided to use a buzzer as a doorbell instead. Good thinking boys!
We have started to use Espresso in our class. Why not visit Espresso and check out the information on the planets.
